Association of Black Chiropractic Physicians of North Carolina
About Us
The Association of Black Chiropractic Physicians of North Carolina (ABCP of NC) was founded to uplift, unite, and advocate for Black Chiropractic Physicians across the state of North Carolina.
Our mission is to create space for connection, collaboration, and advancement within the chiropractic profession while addressing healthcare disparities that disproportionately affect our communities.
Our History
The organization held its inaugural meeting on November 15, 2024, at Back to Health Chiropractic Medical Center in Durham, NC. This historic gathering brought together a dedicated group of chiropractic physicians with a shared vision for equity, excellence, and impact.
Attendees included: Dr. Kenneth Brown, Dr. Anthony Witherspoon, Dr. Latisha Wright, Dr. Nikeya Thompson, Dr. Lowell Faison, Dr. Kiearrah Williams, Dr. Aqeila Shepherd, Dr. Ebony Keitt, Dr. Travis Whiteside, Dr. Chonise Daniels, Dr. LaTanya Simpson, Dr. James Brown, Dr. Shavahn Witherspoon and Dr. Anquonette Stiles. Virtual participants: Dr. Jeffrey Dunnigan, Dr. LaTanya Bowman And Xavier Booker (student).
Following this milestone event, the association was officially incorporated on January 7, 2025, laying the groundwork for long-term growth and impact.
Our Purpose

Support Black Chiropractic Physicians in North Carolina
To provide resources, networking, and representation for Black chiropractic physicians practicing in North Carolina.

To offer mentorship programs for emerging and established Black chiropractic physicians, fostering both professional growth and personal development.

To support and provide access to continuing education, skill development, and professional growth opportunities within the chiropractic field.

To promote awareness of chiropractic care, educate communities on its benefits, and increase access to chiropractic services within the Black community.
